Diploma In Social Development And Administration (SDA- Full TIme)

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Students/Applicants who wish to proceed through Direct Entry to Degree Programme in Social Work/Sociology must possess at least, credit passes in five subjects including ENGLISH LANGUAGE & MATHEMATICS G.C.E O/L at not more than one sitting.

Other applicants without the desire to pursue a degree will be considered for admission provided they have five (5) credit passes in their O’Level including English and Mathematics at not more than two sittings.

1. Five (5) credit passes in WASSC, SSSCE, G.C.E O/Level. NECO subjects or its equivalent which must include ENGLISH LANGUAGE & MATHEMATICS and three (3) other Social sciences/Art subjects at not more than one (1) sitting.

2. Grade II Teachers’ Certificate with five (5) subjects or its equivalent including English Language and Mathematics at Merit level.

3. The following categories of applicants are eligible for consideration, and will be given preference in the following order:

a. Certificate in Social Work and/or Community Development from any approved institution recognized by the Senate of the University of Lagos.

b. Untrained serving Social Work and /or Community Development Workers who have requisite academic qualifications

c. Mature candidates aged 30 years and over with experience and qualification in other professions such as Nursing, Youth Leadership, Prison Service, Police Force and Armed Forces etc. who may not have all requisite academic qualifications, but whose organizations stand to benefit from the programme.

NOTE: Candidates who wish to proceed to B.Sc. Social Work at the completion of the programme must have credit passes in five (5) G.C.E. O/L subjects or its equivalent at not more than one (1) sitting, which must include ENGLISH LANGUAGE, MATHEMATICS and at least two Social Sciences Subjects and one Arts subject.

At the end of the programme, students are awarded a certificate in Diploma in Social Development and Administration. 

TUITION FEE: ₦100, 000.00               

FIELD TRIP PRACTICUM FEE: ₦5, 000.00                       

ENTRANCE EXAMINATION: Date and Time for the entrance examination will be communicated by the Department of Sociology, University of Lagos, Main Campus Akoka.

DURATION: Two (2) academic sessions (Four (4) Semesters, Two (2) Years)
