                                                                            ANNOUNCES

ADMISSION INTO DIPLOMA AND ADVANCED DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES IN HOSPITALITY MANAGEMENT FOR THE 2016/2017 ACADEMIC SESSION
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the  Diploma and Advanced Diploma in Hospitality Management in the Department of Science and Technology Education, Faculty of Education, University of Lagos for2016/2017 SESSION.

OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME
The objectives of this course are as follows:
v  Graduates of the Diploma programme should be able to work in various sections of a hospitality establishment.
v  Graduates of the Advanced Diploma programme should be able to:
·               Plan and manage economic operations of hospitality establishments.
·               Plan and manage various sections of a hospitality establishment.
·               Manage any size of hospitality organization.

FOR WHOM
·         Higher Institutions Guest Houses staff
·         Individuals from the Hospitality industry. 
·         Students with backgrounds in Hospitality Management
·         Individuals from other fields who have interest in Hospitality.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:
1.                  Diploma programme:
·         A minimum of WAEC or its equivalent with passes in five subjects at not more than two (2) sittings.
·          Organization sponsor candidates will be considered.
·         Matures candidates of 30 years and above with years of relevant experience will be considered.
2.                  Advanced Diploma Programme:
·         A minimum of WAEC or its equivalent with five credits including Mathematics and English Language and must be currently employed in a hospitality establishment with years of experience.
·         Applicants with lower credit level pass in National Diploma in Hospitality Management obtained in an accredited institution with a year industrial experience will be considered.
·         Applicants with Diploma in Hospitality Management obtained from University of Lagos/accredited institution will be considered.
·         Applicants with a Bachelor Degree in any area of study.
·         Organization sponsored candidates will be considered.

DURATION
Diploma Programme-9 months.                                    Advanced Diploma Programme-9 months

COURSE FEES
Diploma Programme:
Tuition Fee: N70, 000.00  
Course Material feecomprises the following:
Textbooks- N10, 000:0, Modules-N10, 000:00,  Perishables for Demonstration- N10, 000:00   

Advanced Diploma Programme:
Tuition Fee: N100, 000.00
Course Material feecomprises the following:
Textbooks- N15, 000:00,    Modules- N15, 000:00,   Perishables for Demonstration-N20, 000:00   

APPLICATION FEE AND METHOD OF APPLICATION
i.                    Applicants are expected to visit the HRDC portal http//:hrdc.unilag.edu.ng to fill the pre-application form.  (Content of the pre-application form include Surname, First Name, Middle name, E-mail address and Mobile number).Upon successful completion of the pre-application form, the applicant will be issued a “Payment Reference Number” which should be printed out.
ii.                  Applicants should take their print out containing the payment reference number to any of the designated banks (Ecobank, Access Bank, First Bank and Wema Bank) on the University campus to make payment. (Application Fee N7,500)
iii.                After payment, applicants should return to the payment portal, click the application form link, login with the payment Reference Number and the Surname (in lower case and strictly as provided in the pre-application form) as password to access the application form.

 Kindly note the following:
i.                    Only application payments that the bank has confirmed receipt will have access to the application form.  Applicants who experience challenges may return to the bank where payment was made to request that their payment be posted.  (Notification of payment receipt shall be sent to applicants who have paid.)
ii.                  The password will be as provided in the Surname field in lower case; errors in filling of surname must therefore be reflected in the password used.
iii.                If payment is not made five (5) days after obtaining Payment Reference Number (voucher); the pre-application would be DECLINED.  Applicants will then be expected to refill the pre-application form to obtain a new Payment Reference Number (voucher).
After completion of application form, printed copies should be submitted at the HRDC Secretariat not later than twelve weeks from the date of the advert with the following documents:
·         Original printout and a photocopy of application form.
·         Two (2) photocopies of Birth Certificate
·         Two (2) photocopies of Reference Number printout
·         Original and a photocopy of N7,500.00 teller
·         Two (2) photocopies of credentials

ADMISSION LETTERS:Admission letters for Shortlisted candidates are to be printed online.  Please note that letters of admission will not be posted to individual candidates.
